Bridging social engagement with music streaming
ByteDance sought to revolutionise the music streaming landscape by integrating TikTok's social DNA into a traditional streaming platform. The TikTok Music app needed to balance familiar streaming functionality with innovative social features that would enhance user interaction and set it apart in a competitive market.
Prototyping a social music experience
Through beta testing and UX design, I explored how social engagement could naturally integrate with music discovery and listening habits. The focus was on refining core social features to create seamless interactions that felt intuitive rather than forced, enhancing the overall app experience.
I contributed to the user experience design of TikTok Music, focusing on core social features that would enhance user interaction and differentiate the platform from traditional streaming services. Through prototyping and feature refinement, I helped identify opportunities to create more seamless integration between social engagement and music streaming.
The beta testing and design consultation successfully informed the development of key features, helping to create a more engaging app experience that bridges TikTok's social strengths with music streaming functionality.
